Project Echelon Builds Community in Anniston

Team Project Echelon is returning to the Sunny King once again in 2023. The team kicked off its 2022 campaign by winning the American Criterium Cup Sprint jersey at Sunny King and went on to win the American Criterium Cup overall.

This 2023 season, Project Echelon has made the step up to UCI Continental ranks and looks to establish itself as a dominant force in the Criterium Series once again. Moreover, the team continues to grow its reach and impact in the community through its mission to educate, equip and empower veterans through physical activity and self discovery, serving over 500 veterans in 2022. Team Project Echelon removes the barriers to healing by fostering relationships between veterans, their communities, and professional athletes through mentorship, structure, and the promotion of long term health and wellbeing through endurance sport.

Be sure to connect with the team at this year’s Noble Street Festival, where they will be supporting athletes from the Paralyzed Veterans of America and connecting with members of Wounded Warrior Alabama. The team will also be hosting a special event On Sunday May 7th at 10am/cst for select veterans at Combat Park for a day of fun and community building, driving tanks, Hummers, and playing paintball.

Project Echelon echoes that races like the Sunny King Criterium are more than just a bike race, they are a way to engage with community, be a source of inspiration and an agent for change.
