2024 Event Information

The 2024 Sunny King Criterium event weekend hosts the Alabama State Criterium Championships, Master and Amateur Category Races, the Southeast Collegiate Conference Championships AND is the kickoff to the USA CRITS events calendar, Saturday April 13th, for the Pro 1/2 Men’s & Women’s fields. Sunday, day two offers a full slate of amateur categories at the Sumatanga Road Race and Time Trial, paired with the final day of the Southeastern Collegiate Conference Cycling Championships.

Each year the NEABA HQ is transformed to welcome all cyclists from near and far for race number pickup. The event serves beverages, pastas, sandwiches and dessert for racers, family and friends provided by NEABA. Founded in 1992, NEABA is a non-profit organization created to promote cycling in the Northeast Alabama area. The organization exists to promote the healthy benefits of ALL types of cycling by planning and sponsoring quality cycling-related events and by encouraging both recreational cycling and cycling as a viable means of transportation.

General Registration

Pre-Register for Sunny King Criterium and Sumatanga Events and SAVE $10 before the price increase on Sunday, March 31st. Saturday, if you choose to race a second criterium, you may do this for only $25 onsite through onsite registration at Classic on Noble. Racers should keep their number all weekend and not expect different numbers per day through registration.

Chip Timing will be used and provided through Topview Sports & Swagger LLC.

Onsite Registration

Saturday Opens at 7:00am/est inside the Classic on Noble restaurant (Race HQ).

Sunday Registration Opens at 6:00am/est for the Time Trial at Sumatanga Camp & Conference Center (Day Two Race HQ)

**No refunds allowed for either Sunny King Criterium or Sumatanga Road Race/Time Trial. Participant refund Insurance is in place for any natural disaster.
