After a brief hiatus, the legendary USA CRITS will be back in the saddle for a spring criterium series, running April 13 through May 25, 2024. Six full weeks of travel-friendly races will be livestreamed worldwide, anchored by four national calendar events:
“The four main events in the series are the longest standing criterium events in the South,” says USA CRITS’ Marilyn Hill, who will celebrate a decade as Sunny King’s Race Director in 2024. “Having us all together will offer the athletes the best lineup of events, an easily manageable schedule to complete, and a solid cash payout at the end of the six-week series. Collectively, these are the South’s premier historic criteriums.”
TRAVEL-FRIENDLY: In addition to these pillars of criterium cycling, several additional events (including the Rock & Road Criterium in Newnan, GA) will soon be announced, making the Southeast the indisputable place to be this spring. All events are strategically planned within a limited radius to make travel easy on competitors. Several USA CRITS events also have the distinction of overlapping with sister series Speed Week, as well as being just a short drive from the USA Cycling National Championships in nearby Charleston, WV in May, leading into the Winston-Salem USA CRITS series finals.
LIVESTREAMS: USA CRITS proudly highlights riders and teams worldwide as the only 2024 criterium series in the country to be fully livestreamed. As in years past, every race can be viewed via usacrits.com and other streaming services.
CASH PAYOUT: The total prize purse stands at $200,000 and growing. As the remaining events are confirmed and announced, the total payout will be updated as well.
HISTORY: A decades-long cycling calendar mainstay, USA CRITS boasts a proven, reliable track record. Year after year, cyclists have been able to make solid plans around these events without fear of last-minute cancellations or disappointments.
LEADERSHIP: With a new leadership group and advisory boards in place, USA CRITS offers fresh energy to guide the direction of the series from this point forward. Joining founder Gene Dixon will be a seasoned group of event and team directors, including Executive Director Thad Fischer and Event Advisory Chair/Livestream Coordinator Marilyn Hill. With sponsors and partners in place (and room for a few more), the team is eager to present these new and improved events.
UPDATES: Announcements about the remaining events and total prize purse will be made via the USA CRITS website at usacrits.com and social media platforms. For more information, send an email to usacrits@swagger.us.
